AFIRM for Paras

AFIRM for Paraprofessionals modules focus on evidence-based practices for paraprofessionals working with elementary students with autism spectrum disorders.

My role

Visual Designer, Instructional Designer

I collaborated with the senior learning strategist to design and develop six modules for teachers to work with paraprofessionals in a blended format, to walk through the strategies and process in observing the child, working with the child, and filling out the planning forms they will be coordinating with the teacher.

Deliverables Designed:

  • Visual Design, brand, color, and graphic elements

  • Storyboard

  • Animation and Video editing

  • Storyline Development, utilizing triggers and data variables for LRS

  • Reports and dynamic reports

Introduction Module

This was my first module I produced fully from start to finish, design to development, in Articulate Storyline. With a pre and post test, the users are able to see the importance and benefits to supporting learners with Autism.

Practice Exercises

After designing the updated brand and colors, I designed practice data forms for teachers and paraprofessionals to use in schools and embedded them throughout the modules for users to practice in interactive online modules before using it out in the field.
